Once in a great while, I get a phone call that surprises me. This trip was that call. You never know where things will turn up. Usually when I get picking trip calls, they are 500 or miles away.
These two weasels were only an hour from home. I got to meet two very nice brothers who had these for collecting sap from the maple trees on their farm for making maple syrup.
We looked them over and arrived at a price and got to loading. They were great fun to meet and were very helpful in loading. Two nicer guys you could not meet.
The white weasel was actually the second one that I got to see.
![We loaded the "parts" weasel first. An uncle of the brothers was going to convert the undercarriage to a Bombardier track system and never finished it. That is why the large sprockets are on the drive axle.](https://www.midwestmilitary.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/weaselpickoct13f.jpg)
![The white weasel had been converted to a Ford inline 6 with an automatic trans. Luckily, the original engine and some of the other parts were still in the machine shed.](https://www.midwestmilitary.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/weaselpickoct13i.jpg)
