February 2013 PickingTrip This is the part of my job that I truly love. Picking in a new place. Crates and crates of stuff to dig in. Mostly Duece parts, not for me. This is the pile I did manage to gather up. JXD parts, M37 stuff, M38A1. Managed to climb up on the upper level and found some DUKW parts and some WC Dodge things as well. The bone yard. It used to be full, now, barely anything left. Scrapping was in full swing. Only one lonely jeep left in the yard. Duece’s and 5 tonners were the norm. Lots of drive line stuff laying around. A few heavy winches too. Fuel pump cores, parking brake drums, a few horns and some surprises too. WWII jeep combat wheel rings. More carb and fuel pump cores. Wheels anyone? This old bus turned out to have some nice items. Spent a couple hours in here. Jeep frames up top. More carb and pump cores. Glad to have them! A few WC Dodge items on the floor. One of the crates ready to ship. Two more crates ready for departure. Ended up with 5 in all. Some interesting jeep sheet metal parts. Some repro, some NOS. Found an original crate of 6V marker light bulbs. One shelf full of 3/4-ton WC pintle hooks. Nice! Crate of jeep goodies. Jeep marker light door gaskets, antennas, clutch and brake pedals. A good trip with a gracious host. May have to go back and dig again.
